Merakhi is a conscious step towards slow and sustainable fashion. A tale of reverence and appreciation for the local artisan and the environment. Our brand's mission is to keep the magic of traditional artisanship alive while building a more thoughtful wardrobe.
Merakhi will donate a percentage of our sales to a non-profit organization educating the underprivileged and encouraging homegrown talent in South Asia to play our part in the community.
OUR INSPIRATION
Culmination of the old and new.
For centuries, India has been known for its rich culture, artistic sensibilities, and being a muse for the fashion world globally. We have India’s diligent artisans to thank for their storied and meticulous approach to clothing and jewelry. With many western designers drawing inspiration from India’s many regions for the most popular trends, we wanted to get to the root of where it all started. Merakhi is the belief that tradition does not equate outdated.
OUR HISTORY
Born in the heart of India.
Employing the talents of local artisans in South Asia, Merakhi brings to you contemporary silhouettes infused with traditional sensibilities for all. The name Merakhi comes from fusing “Meraki,” a Greek word that means to put your soul, creativity and love into a task, with our founder’s name “Anokhi,” which means unique in Sanskrit. Merakhi brings a mix of traditional sensibilities juxtaposed with modern silhouettes for the new age global consumer.
OUR FOUNDER

Born and brought up in India, I was always fond of South Asian fashion and despite living abroad in the U.S., I never forgot my roots. Merakhi came to life through the idea of introducing a platform connecting the east to the west, and giving local karigars (artisans) a marketplace to showcase their style of work. Merakhi is not just another South Asian fashion brand, it is a reflection of who I am. My mantra is to take Indian fashion global! With love and gratitude, I thank each and every one of you for the support and to follow along with our journey.
